The Canton Fair has been held every year since 1957

  The China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, is held twice a year in Guangzhou. The Canton Fair  has been held every year since 1957 and is regarded as the ‘number 1’ trade fair in China due to its long history, the wealth and variety of products exhibited and the turnover generated.

  Happening in mid-April, the Chinese Fair of Imports and Exports, commonly known as Canton Fair, will offer Albania an opportunity to further boost its economic cooperation with the Asian country, said Nikola Jaka, chair of the Tirana Chamber of Commerce and Industry, during his meeting with the fair’s organizers, who are in the state to invite the Albanian commercial and industrial sector to participate in the event.
  Organisers enlarged the size of the exhibition area designated for importers as part of an effort to place greater emphasis on import activity. However, only a handful of European and American enterprises chose to exhibit at the fair; there were representatives from the Netherlands and Poland, as well as one from the United States. Strangely, these three foreign participants do not plan to sell to mainland China. The attendee from Holland asserted that European enterprises seldom participate in The Canton Fair because the fair remains largely unknown in Europe and because European enterprises are generally unfamiliar with the Chinese market.
