Sanqing Mountain lies in the northeast of Jiangxi Province. These make it become natural-and-culture scenery with Chinese traditional culture, natural beauty and a large biodiversity.
With its Chinese moniker of "top one fair mountain in South China", Sanqing Mountain is divided into seven scenic areas, all of which still seem nearly untouched, with the magnificence of the Mount Tai, the fantasy of the Mount Huang, and the beauty of the Mount Lu. Sanqing Mountain National Park was listed as one of the eight natural wonders of the world by UNESCO in July, 2008. What's more, Sanqing Mountain Park was chosen as a world heritage site by UNESCO for its forests, waterfalls and unique granitic rocks and pillars.
Sanqing Mountain is the product of geological history of the Earth and biological evolvement, which includes all types of China’s Mid-and Sub-tropical zone vegetation and they are in stale condition. With the increase of altitude, there are 6 vegetation cinctures by sequence, namely: indeciduous latifoliate forest, indeciduous-defoliation latifoliate forest, taiga-latifoliate forest, warm taiga.
Mount Sanqing or Sanqing Mountain is located where Yushan County and Dexing County meets in Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province, with the highest peak-Yujing peak which is 1819.9 meters high. Since its three peaks-Yujing, Yuhua and Yuxu Peak are like the “Three Qing in Taoism” ("Three” in Chinese is “San”), the mountain was thus called Mount Sanqing.
